Circumference Gauge
One of the challenges on the ColdSnap manufacturing line was keeping the “mouth” of the machine, which open and closed to clasp onto the pod inserted to hold in place during the freeze time until dispense, properly calibrated. The “mouth” needed its circumference checked every few hundred cycles to catch any drift before it caused a misfeed or a failed dispense. I designed a dedicated circumference gauge for the job, modeling it in SolidWorks and 3D printing each version to test on the actual equipment rather than relying on simulation alone. Once it was completed, it was shipped to Shenzhen, China where it was installed on the manufacturing floor.
Stationary Bike Generator
For our Cornerstone project, our team set out to build something innovative. We ultimately landing on a stationary bike generator that converts pedaling into usable electrical output. My role was designing the fixture that the bike wheel spins against, which then drives the gear train connected to the generator — essentially the mechanical interface between a person's pedaling and the system that turns that motion into electricity.
The finished generator worked well enough to charge a phone directly from pedaling — a clear, tangible proof that the system worked end-to-end, from a person's physical effort to usable electrical output.
